CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Due to a great interest, the call for abstracts is closed.

Health Impact Assessment is a multi-method and inter-disciplinary way of working on health promotion and disease prevention. It combines both qualitative and quantitative approaches to data collection. The HIA´09 conference will highlight exactly this variety of the method and has therefore divided the conference in three major topics, the so-called streams: Health in all Policies, Tools and Methods and Special Topics. Please check the conference programme on this website for more information on the streams.

The theme of this years HIA Conference will be: ‘On The Move'. We will discuss matters such as:

  • how to move health higher up on the policy agendas
  • how to move on from incidental HIA's to institutionalization
  • how to move on to better integration of HIA in a Health In All Policies approach, trying to create win-win situations for health as well as for other sectors.

Do you think you have an interesting contribution for the conference? Would you like to share your research methods and outcomes or you would like to contribute to the HIA development with practical experiences? The HIA´09 organization invites you to send in ayour abstracts for one of the three types of conference input eg. a workshop, an interactive presentation or a poster presentation. Please note that abstracts can only be submitted through the abstract form.

Conference input

Workshop
A workshop is an interactive method in which you put your audience to work. The goal of a workshop is to learn the participants new work methods and share ideas with other participants. It is an active way of informing your audience. The workshop lasts 1,5 hour. During the conference there is a limited amount of workshops available. If you choose to organise a workshop you are requested to send in a detailed outline of the set up of your workshop.

Interactive presentation at Market Place
The goal of an interactive presentation is to highlight your work in a short period of time (5 Min). Your abstract will be leading for this presentation. In one session 5 abstracts will be presented. After the presentations, the audience has the opportunity to chat with one or some of the presenters. Your abstract will be handed out to the attending audience during the presentation.

Poster presentation
A poster with your conference input will be hung in the conference location for all attendees to see. The poster should be at A1 size. Authors of abstracts accepted for poster presentations must be responsible for all expenses incurred in the preparation of their posters.
